Custom-made as an extension of the design vision
For this project, no standard brick was chosen. Together with Nano Architecten, Joseph Bricks developed a façade brick that matched the architectural vision exactly: Haroon, a custom-made colour.
At Joseph Bricks, the story does not stop at the collection. When a project calls for it, we develop a custom-made brick, in colour, nuance and technical properties.
When standard is not enough
Haroon was designed as the connecting element between interior and exterior. Not an emphatic statement, but a warm, nuanced brick that brings calm to the façade and makes the volume read horizontally. Close up, Haroon shows a refined texture; from a distance, the façade reads as a single coherent whole.
The colour was developed deliberately to convey warmth while remaining timeless, attuned to the materials inside the home.
Tested, refined and confirmed
An essential part of the process was working with samples and full-scale panels. Different joint finishes were tested in order to judge their effect on the façade accurately.
"By testing in advance, the end result was not a gamble but a deliberate choice."
Custom-made at Joseph Bricks
Haroon shows what Joseph Bricks stands for: shared thinking, development and guidance, from the first sketch to the building site. The architect and the client could count on short lines of communication, quick feedback and technical support where needed.
The brick is hard-fired and low in porosity. That means minimal risk of algae growth, discolouration or efflorescence, so the façade retains its expression over the long term.
Haroon is no accident
It is the result of dialogue, trust and custom-made work.
