G Dallas
Production
Production process: Fired in an oxidising atmosphere, not smoked. The colour is the direct result of the clay composition and the firing temperature.
Forming method: According to the waterstruck principle, in which the clay is pressed into a mould and released using water alone.
Clay composition
Clay composition: 100% refractory kaolinitic-illitic Westerwald clay of Mesozoic age, blended with iron-rich clay to give its characteristic depth of colour.
Appearance
Colour: Anthracite with a warm brown undertone
Appearance: Dark and powerful, but not cold; the brown undertone lends warmth and character; the slender proportion gives a sharp, graphic play of lines
Surface texture: Characteristic waterstruck structure; fused coal particles give a lively, almost glowing texture that catches the light in unexpected ways; the slender proportion strengthens the graphic effect; the water used as a release agent remains visible in the surface
Finish: Matt
