Franklin
An architectural statement in its purest form. Franklin is a study in serenity: an elemental grey that radiates calm. The robust format transforms colour into volume, creating a façade with depth and a restrained play of shadow. The canvas for timeless architecture.
Productie
Firing and smoking process: Eco-smoked. Firing and smoking combined in a single cycle in a low-oxygen atmosphere. Lower gas consumption.
Forming method: The bricks are formed by pressing clay into a mould and releasing it according to the waterstruck principle. This gives a slightly irregular, characteristic surface structure with fine water streaks.
Kleisamenstelling
Clay composition: High-grade, 100% refractory kaolinitic-illitic Westerwald clay of Mesozoic age. This clay consists of two clay minerals: kaolinite (low in iron, refractory, cream-firing) and illite (which provides plasticity and lowers the sintering temperature). Because of its geological age, this clay is highly mineralised, compact and exceptionally pure, with considerably fewer impurities than young river clay.
