Jean
The Jean translates the powerful expression of deep Obsidian into the refined Hilversum 7 format. The dark anthracite tone gives the façade a pronounced architectural presence, while the horizontal play of lines provides rhythm and composure. A brick that combines restraint with authority and lends façades a powerful, timeless identity.
Production
Production process: Eco-smoked. Firing and smoking combined in a single firing cycle in a low-oxygen atmosphere. Lower gas consumption.
Forming method: According to the waterstruck principle, in which the clay is pressed into a mould and released using water alone.
Clay composition
Clay composition: 100% refractory kaolinitic-illitic Westerwald clay of Mesozoic age, blended with iron-rich clay to give its characteristic depth of colour.

Colour: Obsidian, deep dark anthracite
Appearance: Powerful and composed; a distinctly dark façade with architectural authority and a refined horizontal rhythm
Surface texture: Characteristic waterstruck structure with fine linear markings; the water used as a release agent remains visible in the surface
