Jorvik

The Jorvik combines deep anthracite with a warm brown undertone. That gives the brick the strength of a dark façade brick without becoming cool or distant. The refined Hilversum 7 format strengthens the colour nuances and creates a calm horizontal play of lines. The result is a façade with depth, warmth and a restrained yet pronounced character.

Production process: Eco-smoked. Firing and smoking combined in a single firing cycle in a low-oxygen atmosphere. Lower gas consumption.

Forming method: According to the waterstruck principle, in which the clay is pressed into a mould and released using water alone.

Clay composition: 100% refractory kaolinitic-illitic Westerwald clay of Mesozoic age, blended with iron-rich clay to give its characteristic depth of colour.

Colour: Anthracite with a warm brown undertone, deep and nuanced

Appearance: Dark and powerful, but not cold; the brown undertone brings warmth and character to the deep anthracite

Surface texture: Characteristic waterstruck structure; fused coal particles give the brick a lively texture that catches the light subtly; the water used as a release agent remains visible in the surface

Finish: Matt
